Date is valid
What this tool does
This tool checks whether a date entered in text form follows a standard format and represents a real calendar date. It tries several common ways dates are written, such as day-month-year or month-day-year, and verifies that the numbers exist (for example, it rejects February 30).
Common uses
- Validating user-entered dates in registration or booking forms before saving them.
- Filtering out clearly incorrect date entries in a list of records.
- Preparing date data for systems that require a strict date format.
Input data
| Parameter | Required | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
date | Yes | 1975-05-20 | Type the date as text that you want to check, for example '1975-05-20'. This field is required. If you enter an impossible date like '1975-13-20', the tool will identify it as invalid. |
Output data
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
result | Returns 'yes' if the date text is valid and represents a real date, or 'no' if it is invalid. For example, a result of 'yes' confirms the date is acceptable. |
