What this tool does
This tool checks if one piece of text appears at the very end of another piece of text. You provide two inputs, and the platform tells you whether the second input is found at the end of the first.
The comparison is case-sensitive. This means 'A' and 'a' are treated as different characters. If the letter case does not match exactly, the tool will report that the text does not end with the specified sequence.
Common uses
- Verifying that a file name has the correct extension, such as checking if 'document' ends with '.pdf'.
- Checking if a sentence or phrase finishes with a specific word or punctuation mark.
- Validating that a code or identifier ends with the expected suffix.
