UPC exists
What this tool does
This tool checks if a Universal Product Code (UPC) follows the standard formatting rules. It does this by adding zeros if needed to reach the correct length and then verifying the final digit against the rest of the code. It does not confirm if the product is actually in any store or database.
Common uses
- Checking if a UPC number entered into a system has the right structure.
- Filtering out obviously invalid product codes before processing.
- Validating data before adding new items to an inventory list.
