ISBN10 code by ISBN13 code
What this tool does
This tool turns a 13-digit book code into the shorter 10-digit version used in older books and libraries. It checks if the input is a valid 13-digit number starting with 978 or 979. If it is, it calculates the matching 10-digit code. If the input is not valid, it simply does nothing.
Common uses
- Changing a modern book code into the older format for catalogs.
- Checking if a 13-digit number looks like a real book code.
- Getting the shorter version of a book identifier for old systems.
