Gender by email
What this tool does
This tool guesses the gender of a person based on their email address. It works by looking at the first part of the email address (before the @ symbol) and trying to find a first name there. If a recognized name is found in the platform's database, it returns the likely gender.
Please note that this method is not very reliable. Many email addresses do not contain a first name, or they use variations that are not in our database. The results should only be used as a rough guess, not as a fact.
Common uses
- Adding a gender label to customer profiles when no other information is available.
- Preliminary analysis of user data where exact demographics are not critical.
