SHA string
What this tool does
This tool creates a unique digital fingerprint, known as a SHA-1 hash, from the text you provide. This process turns your input into a fixed string of 40 characters. The same text will always produce the same result, but it is not possible to turn the result back into the original text.
Common uses
- Verifying that data has not changed, for example by comparing hash values of files or text blocks.
- Creating unique identifiers for text content where privacy is needed.
- Debugging or checking text consistency in simple workflows.
