String vLookup
What this tool does
This tool finds a matching text entry from a list of options based on the value you provide. It looks for an exact match or a similar match where the provided text is contained within one of the list items.
Please note that the search is case-insensitive, but it requires the provided text to be fully contained within a list item or be an exact match. It does not perform advanced fuzzy matching or correct spelling errors beyond simple containment checks. If no clear match is found, the result will be empty.
Common uses
- Checking if a specific code or ID exists in a predefined list.
- Finding a standardized name when users might enter slightly different variations.
- Validating input against a known set of acceptable values.
