Data by VIN number
What this tool does
This tool uses a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to find basic information about a car, such as the maker, model year, and manufacturing location. It first checks if the code follows the correct format, then looks up the details in a public automotive database.
Please note that the platform currently returns a status of 'false' for every lookup, even when valid data is found. Therefore, you should not rely on this status indicator to confirm a successful lookup.
Common uses
- Verifying that a VIN code is formatted correctly before processing
- Identifying the vehicle's manufacturer and production year
- Finding the country and city where the car was built
Good to know
- The last six digits of the VIN are automatically added as the serial number if the format is valid
- Information is gathered from a free public source, so results may be incomplete
