Distance is equal
What this tool does
Use this tool to check if the distance between two specific locations matches a target number. The locations are defined by their coordinates (latitude and longitude), and the target is a distance value in kilometers. The system calculates the actual distance between the two points and compares it to the number you provided.
Note: The distance is calculated using the straight-line path (haversine formula) across the earth's surface. This is an approximation and may differ from driving or walking distances.
Common uses
- Verifying if a service location is within a specific radius of a customer's address
- Checking if two data points are close enough to be considered the same location
- Validating distance data in a dataset
Input data
| Parameter | Required | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
coordinates1 | Yes | 41.2522,-12.10 | Enter the first location's coordinates as latitude and longitude separated by a comma (e.g. '41.2522,-12.10'). This field is required. |
coordinates2 | Yes | 41.2522,-12.50 | Enter the second location's coordinates as latitude and longitude separated by a comma (e.g. '41.2522,-12.50'). This field is required. |
distance | Yes | 33.44 | Enter the target distance in kilometers to compare against. If you enter a number that cannot be read as a number, it will be treated as 0. This field is required. |
Output data
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
result | A yes/no indicator showing whether the calculated distance matches the target distance exactly (true) or not (false). |
