Host is up
What this tool does
This tool checks if a computer or server is connected to the internet and ready to communicate.
It works by trying to reach specific common ports (80 and 443). If it cannot connect, the tool might report the host is down even if it is simply configured to block such checks.
Common uses
- Verifying that a server is online before sending data to it.
- Quickly checking if a website's underlying computer is reachable.
- Monitoring the status of internal or external network devices.
