Current air quality by coordinates
What this tool does
This tool checks the current air quality conditions for a specific location on Earth. You provide the latitude and longitude of the place you are interested in, and the platform returns measurements for pollutants like particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), ozone, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and a general European air quality index value. It also tells you the local time zone of that location.
Keep in mind that this data comes from a single public meteorological and environmental service. The measurements are based on atmospheric models and nearest available monitoring stations, so they may not exactly match the air quality at your exact doorstep. Results can vary slightly depending on how far the nearest station is from the coordinates you entered.
Common uses
- Checking if the air is safe for outdoor exercise in a specific city.
- Gathering environmental data for a planned event or travel destination.
- Moving air filtration systems or checking pollution trends for a specific building.
- Good to know
Use precise coordinates to get the most relevant local data. Very remote areas may have less accurate readings if they are far from any monitoring station.
Input data
| Parameter | Required | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
latitude | Yes | 41.3874 | Enter the north-south coordinate as a number (e.g., 41.3874). This is required and must be a valid number between -90 and 90. |
longitude | Yes | 2.1686 | Enter the east-west coordinate as a number (e.g., 2.1686). This is required and must be a valid number between -180 and 180. |
Output data
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
current | Returns the current air quality measurements as a set of values, including PM2.5, PM10, ozone, and other pollutant levels. |
timezone | Returns the local time zone name for the entered coordinates, such as 'Europe/Madrid'. |
