Network by IP
What this tool does
This tool finds basic network information for a specific IPv4 or IPv6 address.
Keep in mind that this is a simple resolution. While it can find a hostname, the platform does not currently use paid data sources to verify network ranges or providers. Therefore, those details may not be available. The flags for private/public status and static addresses may not reflect live measurements in this environment.
Common uses
- Checking if an IP address is private or public
- Finding the reverse DNS name (hostname) for an address
- Identifying the IP version (IPv4 or IPv6)
Good to know
- Hostname lookups are free but can fail if no name is registered, leaving the field empty.
- Network range and provider details require additional paid services and are not included in this simple resolution.
