Email is role based
What this tool does
This tool checks whether an email address is tied to a general role or department, such as 'sales' or 'support', rather than a specific person.
The check relies on a local list of common role names. If the part of the email before the '@' symbol matches one of these known roles, the tool indicates it is a role-based address. Please note that this method only identifies common patterns and does not verify the actual status or activity of the mailbox.
Common uses
- Filtering out generic company inboxes (like info@ or contact@) from customer contact lists.
- Identifying addresses that likely route to a team or mailing list instead of an individual.
- Segregating marketing campaigns to avoid sending personalized content to departmental inboxes.
