Email has smtp server
What this tool does
This tool checks if an email domain has a mail server configured to receive emails. It looks for the necessary technical settings (MX records) that tell the internet where to send messages for that domain.
The result is a simple yes or no indicator based on whether these settings were found. It does not check if a specific email address exists or if a person will read the email. It only confirms if the domain is set up to accept mail.
Common uses
- Validating contact forms to ensure the provided email domain is active.
- Checking if a customer’s email address can receive messages before sending important notices.
- Filtering out invalid email formats at the point of entry.
Good to know
- A 'no' result means the domain lacks mail server settings, not that the user typed their address incorrectly (unless the format is also wrong).
- This check works at the domain level; it cannot verify individual mailbox existence.
