Mobile portability lookup
What this tool does
This tool checks the details of a mobile phone number, such as which network it belongs to and whether the number has been moved to a different carrier. The platform uses data that is not updated in real time, so the results may not reflect changes that happened very recently.
Common uses
- Checking if a phone number is currently connected to a mobile network.
- Verifying if a phone number has been ported from one carrier to another.
- Identifying the current mobile network operator for a given number.
Good to know
- Fields like 'alive' (whether the phone is switched on), 'is_roaming', and 'ported_country' will always show as empty or false because this tool does not measure these conditions live.
When it fails
- invalid-number: The phone number you entered is not valid.
- not-a-mobile-number: The number is valid but does not belong to a mobile network (for example, it is a landline).
Note on cost
This lookup costs 0.08 credits per request. The charge applies even if the number is invalid or the lookup fails.
