What this tool does
This tool checks a web address for a social media profile. It looks at the link structure to see if it matches a known network, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Plus, Instagram, Pinterest, or SlidesShare. If the link is recognized, the tool splits the address to find the network name and the username.
Note: This tool only checks if the link format is correct for a supported network. It does not verify if the profile actually exists or is active. If the link is for a social site not on our list, or if the format is wrong, the result will be empty.
Common uses
- Checking if a contact's shared link follows a standard social media format.
- Extracting a username from a full web address for quick reference.
- Validating that a pasted link is intended for a supported social network before further processing.
